Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines


The article should be the result of the original research that simply contributes to the sport sciences, especially in the study of the field of kinesiology and physical education. The author is asked to submit their articles electronically by using an online filing procedure owned by IJKPE. The appropriate authors must also provide a statement that the manuscript is not being considered for publication elsewhere. The Editor will ignore any shipments that do not perform this procedure.

Manuscript structure

  1. The title must be clear and informative, and no more than 14 words.
  2. Author's name and institution. The author's name should be accompanied by the author's agency and email address, without an academic degree. For a joint paper, one of the authors must be notified as a suitable writer.
  3. Abstract and keyword. The abstract should be less than 200 words. Abstracts consist of objectives, methods, and results. Please provide an abstract in the English and Bahasa language versions. The keyword must consist of 3 to 5 words or phrases.
  4. This section describes the background of research, previous research reviews in the area, and the purpose of the manuscript. Important should also demonstrate the significance and novelty of the research.
  5. This section describes the appropriate analysis tools along with the data and source.
  6. Results and discussion. This section describes the research results. It should be presented clearly and concisely. The author should explore the novelty or contributions of the work to science education literature.
  7. This section concludes and gives the policy implications, if any, of this research. The conclusion should be in the same order as discussed in the body of the manuscript.
  8. This section only lists papers, books, or other types of publications referenced in the body of the manuscript.

Common writing formats

  1. The script is composed in A4 paper, two-sided, and one-line spacing. The new paragraph should start 5 characters from the left margin, using a Times-New-Roman font size of 11-size.
  2. The manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  3. The manuscript length should be between 12 and 15 pages (5000-7000 words).
  4. The top and bottom margins are 3 cm and 2 cm.
  5. The title is written using Time New Romans with the style Capitalize Each Word, font size 13, position in the middle.
  6. Subtitles, if any, are written using a capital letter only on the first word or a specific name. They should start from the left margin.
  7. Sub of subtitles, if any, are written using a capital letter only at the beginning of each word except for the connective words, everything is italicized. They should start from the left margin.
  8. The reference must be a publication of the last ten years (> 80%) And in the requirement of quoting articles from the IJKPE journal (10%). Referring to any textbook should be minimized (< 20%).

Custom Writing Format

Equations and formulas should be numbered as (1), (2)... etc appears to the right.

The estimated result of the software package is not allowed to be presented directly in the newspaper. They should be presented in a summary table.

Tables and drawings

  1. Table and image names must follow the numbering system (Arabic numbering system). The table headings and their respective images are placed at the top and bottom.
  2. Tables and images should provide a source of information, if any, at the bottom.
  3. Each table should only contain headers and content. The table contains only row rows without column lines. Notes and sources should be inserted below the corresponding table.


Recognition, if any, should be written as a footnote from the title of the manuscript.

Subject and author index

Authors should give the index a subject, i.e. specific terms in the script. The authors must also provide the author's index, which is the main author of the paper mentioned in the manuscript. Please write the surname followed by the given name.

How to cite

Excerpts on the article using the last name and publication year. Example:

  1. Hill (2001) mengemukakan bahwa tujuan depresiasi adalah ...
  2. Penargetan inflasi akan cukup (McCain, 1982).
  3. The definition of contagion is ... (Wagner, 1976; Rhonda 2009).
  4. The Authors are recommended to use Mendeley Reference software.



The manuscript is expected to involve approximately 20-25 primary and up-to-date references to assert high-quality contributions to knowledge development. Citations and references must strictly follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style.  References should include only works that are cited within the text of the manuscript.  Consulting the APA style manual ( is strongly recommended for completing manuscript submissions. References should appear as:

How to send the manuscript

  1. The manuscript in Microsoft word should be sent to the editor by clicking the Online Submission tab on our Website.
    2. A brief bio that contains full name, academic title, institution, telephone, mobile number, and others should be written in the fields of data when registering online in the website submission.


Final Decision

Taking into account the results of the peer-reviewing process, the decision as to the acceptability of each manuscript for publication will be notified to the author(s) through the website system in the following alternative conclusions:

  1. Accepted without revision, or
  2. Accepted with minor revision, or
  3. Accepted with major revision, or
  4. Rejected
